UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2025- The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Indian Engineering Services (IES) Exam 2025, announcing 457 vacancies in various engineering streams. The application window is open from September 18th to October 8th, 2024. The exam will be conducted in two stages: a preliminary exam on February 9th, 2025, and a mains exam on June 22nd, 2025.
The UPSC ESE salary for a Junior officer at the time of joining is Rs. 56100-17750. The salary increases with experience, reaching Rs. 67700 – 208700 after 3-5 years of experience. Further salary increases are possible after 10-15 years and 15-20 years, placing officers under Junior Administrative Grade and Senior Administrative Grade, respectively.
UPSC ESE Written Exam Pattern 2025
The exam consists of two objective type papers of 200 and 300 marks each. Candidates who qualify Prelims will have to appear for the Main exam.
The syllabus for the Mains exam includes subjects specific to the chosen engineering stream.
It consists of two subjective papers of 300 marks each, testing the candidates’ conceptual knowledge.
